Dead Animal Zoo

Erik Andriesse was fascinated by the fleeting beauty of life. Around 1990 he was allowed to shadow the taxidermists of Artis Zoo when they dissected deceased animals for the scientific museum collection. This experience resulted in a wondrous and unique composition with the skeletons of a lion, a parrot, and a monkey, as well as the skulls of humans, a giraffe, and a crocodile.
