Spirals on Echinocactus ingens
Sjoerd Buisman is fascinated by growth processes in nature. What at first sight looks somewhat arbitrary, upon closer scrutiny turns out to be a growth process based on an almost geometric pattern. In these drawings he depicts the double spiral found in the anatomy of cactuses and palm trees and that as a growth chart also has its own aesthetic quality.
