Objects assume a different appearance in many of the photographs by the Czech Reichmann. This one resembles Japanese calligraphy in which a character is rapidly drawn in a few strokes, or sume-i, black ink painting on paper. All that matters in this rippling surface of water are the minute differences between a few shades of black.
