Prototype ‘Beugel’ (Bow) Chair 3 (Large ‘Beugel’ Chair)
Although he had barely built anything, in 1923 ‘architect Rietveld’ was invited to participate in the Bauhaus’ first architecture exhibition, an offer he declined. However, Bauhaus teachers and students continued to closely follow him. This ‘Beugel’ Chair was Rietveld’s variant of the tubular metal furniture the Bauhaus developed from 1925.
