Armchair for Til Brugman
Around 1919 Rietveld made the design for his nowiconic ‘Red-Blue’ chair. However, the first examples were produced in many different colours. This white variant was commissioned by the writer Til Brugman for the music room in her house in The Hague. The white colour fit in with De Stijl artist Vilmos Huszár’s composition of abstract grey planes on the walls of the room.
