The Drilling of the Railway Tunnel, under the Groene Hart (Green Heart)
In the Netherlands we consider the landscape as being ‘makeable’: after all, we have been transforming it as needed for centuries. Nowadays we can travel from Amsterdam to Paris in no time thanks to the work of the hydraulic engineers. Linders photographed the construction of the High Speed Train from Amsterdam to Belgium and France, and the interventions in the land and water that this necessitated.
