Mantle clock (pendule)
These Meissen porcelain figures were incorporated in a clock at the initiative of a Parisian marchand-mercier (dealer in luxury goods), probably around 1755. Soon thereafter the entire object was mounted on a Neoclassical gilt-bronze (ormolu) base.
