Female Nude

Sannes deliberately intensified the contrast in this print. The white of the skin is ‘bleached out’, the dark passages virtually ‘run together’, whereby little, if any, detail can be made out. This was one of the ways in which Sannes manipulated his photographs. A cropped version of this photograph was used for the cover of Oog om oog (Eye for Eye) in 1964, the only photo book by Sannes that was published before his untimely death.
