Two Handbells
The handbell, ghanta, was rung by priests during rituals. The cross with the circular flaming disc depicts a cakra, a wheel referring to the Buddha’s teachings. Depicted below the four faces on the left bell are a jewel, a lotus, and two different vajras, thunderbolts. They represent the four faces of the Buddha, and the four cardinal directions.
