Jar
In Japan cracks in pottery are not repaired to be as invisible as possible, but rather are emphasized with gold lacquer. Usually the restorations are done with plain gold lacquer, but the restored cracks on this jar are exceptionally elaborately ornamented with maple leaves, cherry blossoms, and plovers and waves.
