Nature, Portrait of Emily and Laura Ann Calmady
When Lawrence travelled to Paris in 1825 he took along his portrait of the Calmady girls. Upon presenting an admission ticket, interested parties could view the portrait in his Paris studio. That it was a great public favourite also emerges from the fact that the likeness was thrice reproduced in print: by Samuel Cousins, George Thomas Doo (adjacent), and the Frenchman Jazet.
