Ding ware is made of fine, dense, white clay, often translucent, which becomes orangeish when light shines through it. The transparent glaze can take on a range of shades of white, from ‘ivory white’ to ‘powder white’ or ‘earth white’. This dish has an ivory-coloured glaze. The rim is fitted with a metal band.
