Bowl with a lavender blue glaze
Bowl and Two Dishes.
The glaze of Jun ware from the Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368) is bright blue, thick, and opaque. The sky blue colour of these objects was derived by mixing iron and copper, and monitoring the kiln’s temperature closely while the objects were being fired. The oxidized copper particles
produced purple spatters.
