The narrow entrances to the granaries were closed off with wooden lids or doors, such as this little door.<Br>In the 15th and 16th centuries the Tellem also used stone as building material. The present-day inhabitants of this region - the Dogon - still make their homes from stone, with clay serving as mortar.
