Bright ivory glazed stoneware lime pot with under-glazed decoration in typical blue-and-white (iron-blue, a kind of bleu de Huê). Pumpkin-shaped (flat areca-nut-shaped) body with rather large, round spatula hole (deformed to light oval by position) on the body shoulder. Body face-side with under-glazed blue scene Minh nguyêt vãn tùng lâm (Promenade in pine forest under moon light). Body back-side with ten under-glazed, hand-written blue chu Nho characters in four vertical rows, namely from right to left: [1] tùng ha vân dông [2] tu [3] ngôn su thám lac [4] khú (In pine forest [the master] notices his young servant, That he gets out looking for Lucky). Brittle curved handle with in relief, under-glazed decoration of symmetric blue sea waves in scroll with two knops with light solar rays (one at each side) and six deep points; at both joint points with the body, symmetric blue sea waves developed to triangular form. Prominent blue nipple with solar rays. Ivory glazed straight, full, low base; base inside with numerous concentric circles.
