Headdress for a man, with a circular, flat top and rolled-up sides. This type of headdress is mainly worn in the northeast of Afghanistan and the north of Pakistan, but is now also popular in large parts of East Afghanistan and the rest of Pakistan. People in Afghanistan under the Taliban were forbidden to wear the pawkul.
