Rok (chiapaneca)

Commercial cloth, woven in Oaxaca City and sold to women in the Chinant­la. Brick-coloured ground with blue weft and warp stripes, creating a 'tartan' effect. Skirt is plaited around waist and finished with a white cotton band with ends hanging loose to tie skirt at waist. Used with huipil see 5075-166, headcloth see 5075-167 and belt see 5075-168.
