Vrouwenceintuur (faja)
De traditionele dracht van de Chinanteca is één van de kleurrijkste van heel Mexico en vooral de vrouwen dragen veel verschillende kostuums. De klederdracht voor vrouwen bestaat uit een “huipil”, rok, gordel en hoofdbedekking. Deze gordel werd samen met de rokken 5075-169 en 170 gedragen.<BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> Multi-coloured cotton, commercial yarn used for embroidery<BR> <BR> Acquired 1964<BR> <BR> Dimensions: L: 208 cm<BR> W: 16 cm<BR> <BR> Description: Warp consists of red cotton yarn. Main colour of belt is red, with narrow multi-coloured cross bands. Three embroidered cross bands of multi-coloured commercial yarn, one in the centre and one at each end of the belt.<BR> Twisted warp threads at both ends form fringe (8 cm wide).<BR> <BR> Used with woman's skirt vide 5075-169, 170<BR> <BR> Provenience: Usila, Oax<BR>
