Draagdoek (servilleta)
De “servilleta” is een multifunctionele doek die door veel Indiaanse volkeren in de plaats van een tas gebruikt wordt. De doek bestaat uit twee delen die in het midden aan elkaar genaaid zijn. <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> Servilleta<BR> <BR> Handspun white cotton, multi-coloured yarn used for embroidery.<BR> Acquired 1952 in San Andrés Chicahuaxtla, Oax. from owner<BR> Dimensions: L: 67 cm<BR> W: 75 cm<BR> <BR> Description: Handspun white cotton, plain weave. The servilleta consists of two panels, each with a dark-blue warp stripe, sewn together with multi-coloured 'randa' work. On one side the ends of the dark-blue warp threads are knotted into two tassels. Decoration consists of cross bands, predominantly red with some yellow, pink and green, in commercial yarn.<BR> <BR> Provenience: San Andrés Chicahuaxtla, Oax.<BR>
