Handspun white cotton, plain weave with cording. All over cloth multi-coloured cross bands of brocaded bird, flower and geometrical designs. Cross bands are separated by narrow bands of cording, the ends of which are left hanging loose to form fringe. Warp threads form knotted fringe at top and bottom. Purple thread is handspun cotton dyed with 'cara­col'. Used by women in the Mixteca de la Costa.
