Boots of a boy

Fur boots tailored from hooded-seal fur. Sewn with sinew. The sole is made from bearded-seal fur. A separate rim of sealskin, from which the hair has been removed, has been sewn onto the top edge of each boot. The bootees are old, the fur having worn away in places. The fur of the inner boots faces inwards. By the 1970s, hardly any Tiniteqilaq children possessed a pair of traditional footwear. They wear sports shoes and Wellington boots.
