Boots made from sealskin. The fur is removed from the skin used to make the outer boots and thereafter dyed black. Small decorative pieces of painted sealskin have been sewn on to the legs. The colours are blue, green, yellow, red and white. The soles are made from bearded-seal skin. The fur of the inner boots faces inwards. Many males possess a pair of finely decorated boots for feast days and church attendance, which nowadays form part of the national dress.
