A step-meander motif is painted along the rim of the half-disk. The circular ear adornments are embellished with a cross shape and dots in the four quadrants. The Recuay culture developed in the northern mountain region of the central Andes, in the same period that the Moche and Nasca cultures flourished on the coast.
