Brush rinser
A brush is rinsed in the water container both while it is being used, and after it has been used. The container forms part of the equipment needed for writing and painting. Such objects are often beautifully made, in order to inspire the writer or painter.
This brush rinser was made in the People's Republic of China. Today, modern writing materials such as ball pens, fountain pens and pencils, are also used by many people in China. Nonetheless, traditional brushes have not been ousted from use, and there is still a lively tradition of calligraphy.
