Bark painting
Buranday of the Yolngu group from northeastern Arnhem Land painted this tree bark. Alexander Cornelius van der Leeden acquired this painting in 1965. Between 1950 and 1970, many Aboriginal artists were abundantly experimenting how to adjust ritual, ancestral knowledge which was restricted to initiates in such a way it could be represented in the non-ceremonial context of the art world.
