Hij noemt de totem dan ook moeder.

Painting on hardboard by the Nunggubuju artist Gulbarngainj (Jackie-Jackie) of Rose River, south-east Arnhem Land, 1964. Gulbarngainj was of the Murumurungun clan, but his mother was of the Jirkari River clan. The catfish, wara-mitelrungu, depicted here are totem animals of that clan. This explains the painting's title, 'Mother'. (Exhibition Catalogue: Australia, the Land, the People (2005)).
