Kooijman)<BR> <BR> Schild uit één stuk hout gemaakt, met aan de achterzijde een handvat. Aan de voorzijde versierd met een in hoofdzaak zigzagvormig patroon, gevormd door evenwijdige groeven en rode en witte kleuren. De achterzijde is geheel rood gekleurd. Op de oorspronkelijke beschrijvingskaart stond naast 'schild' de naam varra. Dit is de inheemse naam voor eucalyptus marginata, waarschijnlijk dus een aanduiding van het hout waarvan het voorwerp is gemaakt. <BR> <BR> Yarra, shield like No. 1207-1, but made of softer wood; the groups of grooves at the front not separated by flat ridges and stained alternately bright red and white. Back all over stained bright red, and with a few crossing groups of grooves on the one half, and one group of diagonal grooves on the other; surgace of handle grooved longitudinally. Maratunia-tribe.<BR> <BR> Shield, yarra, from the Maratunia people, in the region between the Fortescue<BR> and Nicol Rivers.
