Een paar laarzen
A pair of boots ('ki') made from sealskin (Phoca Larga). They have high legs, and a sole made of seal leather (depilated sealskin). They are for men's winter wear.
In the second half of the twentieth century many boots were still made locally, but these were only worn for work on the collective (kolkhoz) fish farms. At the end of the 20st century, modern fur boots with felt linings and rubber soles, and Russian and European shoes, have replaced the traditional boots.
