A pair of cotton leggings with a strip of red, yellow and brown flowered cotton at the top. Beneath this there are strips of blue, white and yellow cotton. These leggings were fastened round, to just above the ankles, with colourful ribbons. The little leather straps at the top each have one bead. This can be pushed through a small opening at the edge of the legging, so that the strap forms a leather loop, which is used to fasten the leggings to a waist belt. The leggings are beautifully finished, and were probably meant for wear on festive days. Both men and women wore cotton leggings sometimes made from two layers of cotton or linen. As in the case of many items of clothing worn by Amur peoples, leggings were still being worn in the 1950s, particularly by older men and women, but after that period they quickly began to fall into disuse.
