A bamboo stick consists of several nodes. On each node, another scene, a story, is imagined. Images were applied on bamboo sticks in two techniques, by incising with a sharp tool or burning with a hot iron rod. It was not easy to engrave in a round and hard bamboo stick. Moreover the maker could not erase a mistake. The maker paid much attention to warfare and battle between different tribes. On the upper node groups of warriors with traditional weapons in hand - such as spears and birdhead clubs - are depicted. On the lower node the planting of yams in front of the huts and the fishing with nets and spears is visible. A man catches fish with a jagged spear. Two houses with a ceremonial square depict a village. On the middle node a big clanfeast - Pilou - is shown.
