Bamboe met tekeningen

Many western firearms are depicted on the bamboo sticks in this showcase. The images on this bamboo stick show daily activities such as collecting food. Palm trees and other vegetation, but also many animals which were eaten - including turtles, crabs and fish - are displayed. The elongated shape with points at both ends at the top of the upper node represents a village: between two opposite houses is a square. On top of the lower node is the construction of a European ship drawn, with attention to the tools which were used for it like metal axes, saws and drills. Further can be seen: men with metal axes and machetes, indigenous canoes with triangular sails, oxcarts and the characteristic elongated roof decorations which were placed on the houses of headmen.
