Neck rest
In Africa it used to be customary to sleep on mats on the floor. Neck rests supported the head as well as serving to protect elaborate hairstyles. This neck rest was fashioned in the shape of a stylised female figure, who sits on the base on holds up the support with her hands and shoulders.
