It was used in many Cherokee publications since 1825, and has survived until the present day in Oklahoma and North Carolina. The bible, other religious texts, newspapers, books, and curriculum materials were edited in this format, also in bilingual publications (Foreman 1938; Walker 1996:162-167).<BR> (Hovens 2009)
