The smaller exhibits a bird with a ribbon with the text "ESSAYONS" flying over a fortress with the sun setting over an expanse of water. An eagle claw completes the ornament. Both buttons are associated with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This decorative set of machine-made military buttons and eagle claw has a buckskin backing, stitched on a piece of red flannel.
