A good tea master will of course make sure that everything is well prepared before the tea ceremony. The tea bowls are already immaculately clean. But the tea master will still wipe the tea bowls again with the cloth before he fills them. He pulls out the cloth from his sleeve. As in every other aspect of the tea ceremony this wiping follows strict rules; the way in which the tea master folds the cloth, the movement he uses in running it over the bowls and the way in which he finally stores away the cloth.
