Anne and Margot Frank in Aachen

After Otto's mother Alice Frank-Stern moved from Frankfurt to her daughter in Basel in September 1933, Anne and Margot went to live with their other grandmother in Aachen. Otto had already gone to Amsterdam in June to set up Opekta and Edith travelled back and forth between the three cities.[1] Around Christmas 1933 her uncles Walter and Julius brought Margot to Amsterdam. On 16 February 1934, Margot's birthday, Anne followed and so the family was reunited. The exact date of their arrival in Aachen is not known.
